Apartment pictures - finally!

So I finished unpacking last night, but waited until today to take pictures in hopes of getting nice pictures of the rooms in natural light.  Of course, just my luck, I woke up to a misty day and the sun did not break through until around 2pm, but then I quickly started taking pictures before the sun set, haha!  So here are a few pictures of my apartment and my holiday decorations (for now)!  :)  [Again, this blogger hates me and my pictures so it has taken me all night to get all of these up!  Any help on an easy way to do this would be wonderful as it lets me upload a picture or two randomly and doesn't let me upload the rest until I try it like 10 million times, geez!]

My hallway looking towards the elevators on the left.

The hall just outside my door (the open one that you see).

My front door from inside my apartment - the bathroom is just there to the right and the bedroom across from that.

The bathroom.

My bedroom.

Looking out from the center of the bed.

My couch and dining table.

My living room.

The view out of the windows that my table is up against.

The view from the windows in the living room and my bedroom.

Decorations!

My kitchen!

My oven that is being slightly temperamental with me.

My dishwasher which I used for the first time the other night.  It is slightly noisy, but perhaps it was because I wasn't expecting to hear the gushing of the water as it cycled through.

The view out my kitchen window, plus my extra dining chair.

My Christmas decorations in the living room!  My tree wouldn't quite support the ornaments, but I got them up anyways!

And my tree!!!  :)  Complete with its own jingle bells, yay!

And so after fighting with this darn'd blogger to upload my pictures, I am off to (try) to fall asleep.  Tomorrow I am going to try to start my routine back at the gym.  The Curves I am probably going to go to closes between 10am and noon, and I am trying to talk myself into getting into a routine where I go before they take their break, but we'll see.  :)  I AM going tomorrow though!  And then of course I have orientation in the afternoon, which I am super excited about!  SUPER excited!!!

Ladybugs

So the week I was here to sign the papers on the apartment and have the furniture delivered, the windows were leaking since they were old and did not close tightly.  At the time I also saw a few ladybugs in the apartment, which I assumed were from the slight gaps in the windows.  No big deal, I like ladybugs okay.  But now the windows are caulked shut and so that should be the end to the ladybugs, right?  I wouldn't mind just watching them on the other side of the window, but no, they are STILL coming inside!  I throw out about 3-4 of them every other day and (we all know how I am about bugs) I am tired of chasing down little ladybugs since I am short and they tend to like the tall ceiling corners!  Blah.  I will have to find out what the issue with ladybugs is in the building or if my apartment is just special.  I do hear that if you see a ladybug in the winter then it is good luck, and if that is true then I have my luck set for this winter, the next, and at least the one after that!   :)  At least they're just ladybugs though, I can deal with ladybugs.  For now.

Happy (belated) Turkey Day!!!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  I sure did!  I went to have dinner with some family in Vancouver and ate way, waaay too much and was sent home with tons of leftovers so I should be set through til next week!  I had meant to make this cranberry-cherry crisp to take with me to the dinner, but found out that I had bought the wrong can of cherries so I wasn't so sure how it would turn out, but Rick sure seemed to like it!  I think it was a little more tart than the original recipe, but it was still yummy.  Plus there was pumpkin pie and a razzleberry pie, so plenty of sweet stuff too!

Well, today I actually ::gasp:: ventured out to the shops by my apartment to see what this crazy thing of Black Friday shopping is all about (for the first time ever) and actually found all those shops pretty un-busy compared to what I thought it would be.  Perhaps because they aren't the big chains, but that was okay with me.  I didn't dare go to the Fred Meyer until after 11am because I hear that their big sock sale is all kinds of crazy, and I really don't need to be fighting people for a pair of socks.  Good thing I went food shopping on Wednesday.

I can't believe this is the last weekend before school starts - I'm so excited!  We just have an orientation on Monday, but I am so excited about it!  I get my uniforms and books and a schedule, yay!  I don't plan on venturing out into the crazy Christmas shopping this weekend, so I should be able to finish the little unpacking I have left - hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures of the inside of my apartment up by Monday!  But for now, here are some pictures of the streets around my apartments.  Not much to see, just streets and cars and such, but yeah - this is my neighborhood!

This is my street - King Ave.  My apartment building is to the right of the "watch out for the stop sign" sign.

This is the street I will most likely walk down to get to my school.  Go down til you see those cars waiting at the light, and turn right and go down a couple of blocks.

This is the street I look out of my apartment window down onto (my apartment is to the right in this photo).

And this is my apartment building.

King Towers, ta da!

Whew, okay it took me like an hour to get those pictures up.  The picture part of this blogger doesn't like me, but it's done and so I am done!  :)

I am moved and back online!

So yeah, I have internet again and am excited about that because now I dont HAVE to go to Starbucks just to get directions someplace, so yay!  :)  The move went well, just a long drive.  The car was super packed, but we didn't hit any snow on the pass and got here in good time with good roads all the way.  We got here around 6pm and Kristen and I made it to my school for our dinner at 7pm.  We watched the rain start and stop all through the meal and were wondering just how wet we'd be when we got home since we were umbrella-less at the moment (it was still packed in the packed car), but luckily it let up just as we were walking home, so we didnt get rained on, yay!  I am still unpacking and once I have I will take some pictures of my apartment for those of you asking, soon soon soon!  But I have my parking space and I found the trash room and my windows have been caulked and so my apartment should pretty much be set!  And I picked up a phone book at Fred Meyer as well, cause you never know when I might need one and the internet is out!  Kristen and I wandered my super fun neighborhood all weekend long and saw all the shops we love.  I *might* just have to actually go out for my first ever black friday shopping day this year since I can walk there - but we'll see.  Unfortunately Kristen went home yesterday, after beautiful weather all weekend just in time to miss the small rains we got all day today.  It's not raining now, but the mountains have the pretty mist on them, so I love it!  Not quite snow, but it'll do for now...

No internet.

So I forgot that my internet would go on hold mid-week, so I am internet-less until I get to Portland.  And then I will really get started on this blog!  :)

Last week in Kalispell... for now.

Do the time for moving is almost here.  It is my last week and while I am finishing my last-minute packing and prepping the house for the winter I am also starting this blog.  I've never blogged, so we'll see how it goes, but since waaaaay too many people keep asking how to keep in touch with me and if they'll get to see the stuff ill be making, I figure this is probably the easiest way.  So I will figure out how to post pictures and what not and try to keep you all up-to-date on how my schooling is going and how much of my food I am (hopefully not) taking home!  :)  And for those of you asking, click on "my profile" to find a link to my email!
